Welcome to the ASEE Entrepreneurship Division, the home of engineering entrepreneurship. Over the few short years of its existence, the Entrepreneurship Division has become one of the fastest growing divisions within ASEE. With the continuing support of the ASEE leadership, our division officers, and the active involvement of our members, we are committed to bringing you the very best research papers, workshops, awards, and partnership opportunities in the engineering entrepreneurship domain.

While our commitment is strong, our ability to deliver depends heavily on the active involvement and interesting and creative ideas of our members. We encourage you to contact our officers if you are interested in being involved or you have ideas you wish to discuss. You will find their information in the contact section of this site. We encourage you to attend the annual meeting, as well. There you will be surrounded by others who share your curiosity (if you are a newcomer) or your passion about engineering entrepreneurship.

The Kauffman Foundation promotes entrepreneurial success at all levels, from elementary school students to high-growth entrepreneurs. We work with leading educators and researchers nationwide to create awareness of the powerful concepts of entrepreneurship, to develop and disseminate proven programs that enhance entrepreneurial skills and abilities, and to improve the environment in which entrepreneurs start and grow businesses.

The National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance fosters invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship in higher education as a way of creating innovative, commercially viable, and socially beneficial businesses and employment opportunities in the United States. The program was founded on the premise that invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship are essential components of the higher education curriculum and vital to the nation's economic future. The NCIIA works with colleges and universities to build collaborative experiential learning programs that help nurture a new generation of innovators and entrepreneurs with strong technical and business skills and the tools and intention to make the world a better place.

The NCIIA is an initiative of The Lemelson Foundation, a private philanthropy established by the prolific inventor Jerome Lemelson and his family. The Foundation seeks to stimulate the U.S. economy and secure its position in the global marketplace by nurturing the next generation of inventors, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

The Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP) believes that engineers and scientists need entrepreneurial skills to be successful at all levels within their organizations. Our center is dedicated to accelerating high-technology entrepreneurship education and creating scholarly research on technology-based firms. We prepare students for leadership positions in industry, universities, and society, and we disseminate our research and teaching knowledge throughout the world. STVP is located within the Stanford University School of Engineering and is hosted by the Department of Management Science and Engineering.

Part of the Department of Management, the Collaborative for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (CEI) is WPI's university-wide center for entrepreneurship. It was founded in 1999 to capitalize upon the extraordinary synergy between WPI's many different entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives and extend the benefits to a larger community. Thus it serves not only business students and professors, but also those in engineering and science as well as the business community.

The Collaborative supports technological entrepreneurship and innovation development in academia, industry, and among the general public by providing model programs, publications, library resources, membership organizations, lecture and workshop series, networking venues, and competitions. An undergraduate entrepreneurship minor is offered by the Department of Management, as well as graduate course offerings in entrepreneurship and innovation.

The mission of the Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute (MTECH), an initiative of the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland, is to educate a new generation of entrepreneurs; create new technology-based ventures; and partner with industry.

MTECH'S entpreneurship activities include:

Launches and accelerates the growth of early-stage companies based on UM innovations and discoveries;

Provides hands-on technical, business, and funding support to regional entrepreneurs building new technology companies; and

Educates technology creators to understand and apply entrepreneurial practices and tactics.
